Charles P. Rogers has been making mattresses for the better part of 200 years. It makes a handful of different mattresses, but we're major fans of the brand's newest model, the Tradition Mattress, especially if you have any kind of back pain. The inner layers are firm and supportive, but the soft pillowtop makes it plenty comfy for side sleepers. Charles P. Brooklyn Bedding

I'm a recent convert to plank-style mattresses after trying Brooklyn Bedding's Plank Firm Natural mattress. Bear makes our favorite side sleeper mattress, the Bear Elite.
