Based on the novel The Never Game by Jeffery Deaver, Tracker follows Colter Shaw, a man who makes a living taking on cases involving missing persons and using his innate ability to track them down in exchange for reward money. The show producers dub it “an old-fashioned show, but an elevated old-fashioned show,” and it certainly does fall under that category, with cases of the week wrapping up at the end of each episode.

CBS recently announced via a video featuring Justin Hartley that Tracker season 2 will premiere on Sunday, 13 October 2024. The airing time will vary depending on your location. For US viewers on the East Coast, Tracker will debut after an NFL doubleheader around 8:30 p.m., while those on the West Coast can catch it at 8 p.m.

How many episodes will season 2 have?

Following the 13 episodes of season 1, which aired as a midseason series, the upcoming fall launch will provide almost double the episodes. During the Television Critics Association press tour in July, executive producer Ken Olin announced that season 2 will consist of 22 episodes.

What could be the plot of ‘Tracker’ season 2?

The potential storyline for the second season of Tracker could involve Colter travelling across North America to collaborate with law enforcement and civilians and solve challenging cases. The focus will also be on the ongoing family drama surrounding Colter.

Executive producer Elwood Reid, in an interview with TV Insider at the Television Critics Association press tour, emphasised the complexity of Colter’s family background, hinting at revelations about his past and the impact of family dysfunction on his character.

Additionally, viewers can anticipate more in-depth character development for other key figures in the series, including Colter’s elder brother, with new storylines and relationships unfolding.

Justin Hartley as Colter, Sofia Pernas as fellow reward seeker Billie Matalon and Wendy Crewson as Mary Dove Shaw are all set to return in the upcoming season. Joining them will be Melissa Roxburgh from Manifest, portraying Colter’s younger sister Dory, and Jensen Ackles from Supernatural and The Boys, taking on the role of Colter’s estranged brother Russell Shaw.

Other cast members will include Robin Weigert as Teddi Bruin,Abby McEnany as Velma Bruin, Eric Graise as Bob Exley and Fiona Rene as Reenie Greene.
